Tax Staff - Public

We are looking for an experienced Tax Staff member to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This role involves preparing and reviewing diverse tax returns, conducting research on tax regulations, and collaborating with clients to provide exceptional tax-related services. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and exempt organizations.
• Conduct tax planning and perform in-depth research on tax laws, regulations, and specific issues.
• Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
• Communicate directly with clients and regulatory agencies to address tax-related inquiries and concerns.
• Apply a comprehensive understanding of the tax return preparation and review process.
• Stay updated on industry knowledge by participating in relevant educational opportunities.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all tax-related tasks.
• Assist clients with navigating complex tax matters and provide tailored solutions.
• Utilize advanced tax software such as CCH ProSystem Fx and Lacerte for efficient tax preparation.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
• CPA or EA designation preferred, or actively working towards completion.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and client service abilities.
• Proficiency with tax software, including CCH ProSystem Fx and Lacerte.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in public accounting tax services.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Expertise in individual and corporate tax returns, as well as federal income tax preparation.
