Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Midland, Michigan. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities:
• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and receipts while addressing discrepancies.
• Input and maintain financial data in accounting software, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses to support decision-making processes.
• Maintain organized records of financial transactions and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
• Respond to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding billing and payment matters.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations and address any issues.
• Assist with expense reports and employee reimbursement requests, ensuring they are processed accurately.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and implement efficiency-enhancing solutions.
• Document accounting processes and provide training to new team members as needed.
• Proficient in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong experience with billing functions and account reconciliation.
• Familiarity with accounting software and data entry practices.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards.
• Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Effective communication skills for addressing vendor, client, and departmental inquiries.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams to support financial operations.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
