Staff Accountant

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team at a growing organization in The Dalles, Oregon. This 100% on-site Contract to permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations while supporting governmental accounting standards. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Assist with the management of federal and government grant processes, including reporting and compliance.

• Conduct variance analyses to identify discrepancies and suggest corrective actions.

• Assist with audit preparation by organizing financial documents and supporting schedules.

• Generate financial reports and statements in accordance with organizational requirements.

• Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Collaborate with team members to prepare detailed financial statements.

• Proven experience in journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

• Familiarity with government accounting processes and reporting.

• Strong knowledge of variance analysis and audit preparation.

• Ability to prepare financial reports and statements accurately.

• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.

• Proficiency in ERP systems.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
