Sr. Accountant

We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Commodities industry based in Savannah, Georgia, 31415, United States. We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team. As a Sr. Accountant, your primary role will be to ensure accurate and efficient processing of accounting tasks, including account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management.

Compensation:

Base salary range: $65-75k, depending on experience

Eligible for annual bonus tied to company performance

Responsibilities:

• Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

• Carry out balance sheet reconciliations, review and rectify any discrepancies.

• Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.

• Use Microsoft Excel and Oracle for various accounting tasks, such as creating journal entries and conducting inventory reconciliations.

• Utilize the ERP system for various accounting purposes.

• Employ advanced Excel functions such as 'xlookup' for data analysis and reporting.

• Ensure the timely closing of accounts at the end of each month.

• Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences.

• Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role.

• Proficiency in account reconciliations and inventory reconciliations.

• Demonstrated expertise in managing the general ledger and processing journal entries.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of XLOOKUP function.

• Experience in conducting month-end close procedures efficiently.

• Familiarity with Oracle financial software for carrying out accounting tasks.

• Experience in inventory reconciliation within the Commodities industry.

• Proficiency in using ERP software for accounting procedures.
