About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented US Senior Payroll Specialist to support ongoing payroll operations. This role will work closely with the company’s payroll vendor, to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing across weekly, biweekly, and specialized pay cycles.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity within a strong and collaborative payroll team based in both Miami and Toronto—offering hands-on support throughout the learning curve.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate payroll inputs submitted by vendor; ensure all data is accurate and complete before payroll runs.
- Support weekly and biweekly payroll cycles for employees across all US states.
- Review and resolve payroll rejections and discrepancies, escalating when necessary.
- Respond to employee and internal team inquiries related to payroll, pay changes, taxes, and deductions.
- Assist with year-end activities, including W-2 review and distribution.
- Support bonus payouts, RSU-related transactions, supplemental payments, and other off-cycle events.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during ongoing acquisition-related integration activities.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of US payroll experience within a mid-size or large corporate environment.
- Experience validating payroll with a third-party vendor
- Workday payroll experience strongly preferred, but not required.
- Experience with major payroll systems (ADP, Workday, UKG, Paylocity, etc.).
- Strong understanding of W-2 processing
- RSU, bonus, and multi-state payroll experience highly desirable.
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and comfort working in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to start immediately
