Programmer Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Programmer Analyst with expertise in RPG programming to join our team in Portage, Michigan. This role involves managing and optimizing mainframe systems, ensuring smooth operations, and contributing to innovative solutions for our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in IBM systems and programming languages, along with a strong understanding of agile methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize RPG programs within AS400 systems to support business operations.

• Manage and administer mainframe systems, including CICS and DB2 database environments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that align with business goals.

• Utilize Agile Scrum methodologies to ensure efficient project delivery and continuous improvement.

• Conduct AB testing to validate system changes and enhancements.

• Create and maintain Business Requirement Documents to support project planning and execution.

• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, resolving technical issues as they arise.

• Implement and oversee ChangeMan processes to ensure secure and controlled software changes.

• Perform SQLRPGLE programming to enhance database functionality and reporting capabilities.

• Provide technical guidance and training to team members as needed.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in RPG programming and mainframe system management.
• Proficiency in IBM technologies, including RPG II, RPG/400, and SQLRPGLE.
• Strong knowledge of AS400 systems and CICS environments.
• Experience with DB2 database administration and optimization.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and AB testing practices.
• Ability to create and interpret Business Requirement Documents.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
