Payroll Accountant

We are looking for a meticulous Payroll Accountant to join our team in New Castle, Delaware. In this role, you will oversee payroll operations, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accurate reporting. This is a long-term contract position requiring on-site presence, with opportunities to contribute to multi-state payroll processes and financial reconciliations.

Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle payroll operations, including processing payments and maintaining accurate employee records.
• Oversee payroll tax reporting and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Handle payroll-related inquiries, providing timely resolutions to employee and organizational concerns.
• Reconcile payroll to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and alignment with accounting standards.
• Navigate and address payroll tax notices, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now for payroll management, while being adaptable to other systems as needed.
• Ensure multi-state payroll compliance, addressing the unique tax and reporting requirements of each jurisdiction.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
• Provide expertise and insights into payroll-related matters, supporting organizational decision-making.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold high standards in all payroll-related activities.

• Proven experience in full-cycle payroll operations, preferably in a multi-state environment.

• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.

• Strong knowledge of payroll tax reporting and compliance requirements.

• Ability to reconcile payroll transactions to general ledger accounts.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll processes.

• Effective communication skills to address payroll inquiries and collaborate with teams.

• Familiarity with navigating and resolving payroll tax notices.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in payroll operations.
