Intermediate Accountant

We are looking for a skilled Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Salem, Virginia. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in accounting records, and supporting the company's financial operations. Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record accurate journal entries to maintain up-to-date financial records.
• Perform detailed reconciliations for accounts and bank statements to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Manage and oversee the general ledger to maintain organized and compliant financial data.
• Process and monitor accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Compile and analyze financial reports to support decision-making and provide insights.
• Assist with ad hoc financial reporting tasks to meet evolving business needs.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all financial activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address accounting discrepancies and identify process improvements.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely completion.
• Maintain thorough documentation of accounting practices and transactions for audit purposes.
• Proven experience with journal entry preparation and management.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger operations and maintenance.
• Expertise in account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with accounts payable processes and procedures.
• Ability to analyze and prepare financial reports with accuracy.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
