What are the responsibilities and job description for the In House Counsel position at Robert Half?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Counsel for a prominent client in the Cincinnati area. This role is integral in providing legal support and strategic advice for federal, state, and local government contracts. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of procurement regulations and the ability to navigate complex legal matters related to government contracting.
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive legal guidance throughout the government contracting process, from proposal development to contract closeout.
• Advise internal teams on compliance with procurement laws and regulations, including FAR and DFARS requirements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
• Collaborate with business development, finance, and operations teams to align legal strategies with organizational goals.
• Monitor and interpret changes in government procurement laws, advising on potential impacts to the business.
• Oversee relationships with external counsel for specialized legal matters, including litigation or regulatory issues.
• Contribute to the formulation of risk management strategies to support business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5 years of legal experience, including substantial time focused on U.S. government contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and related procurement regulations.
- Strong negotiation skills and business acumen.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
