Financial Reporting Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team! This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in public sector financial reporting and expertise in preparing Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and maintaining the accuracy of financial data.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and contribute to the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, ensuring compliance with public sector standards.

• Audit and review financial statements and balance sheet transactions to verify accuracy and completeness.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and ensure timely and precise reporting.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and general ledger reviews.

• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze and report financial data effectively.

• Maintain thorough documentation of accounting processes and activities.

• Ensure adherence to financial reporting regulations and requirements specific to public sector entities.

• Provide support during financial audits by coordinating with relevant stakeholders.

• Identify and implement corrections to financial records to improve reporting accuracy.

• At least 5 years of experience in public sector financial reporting, including preparation of Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliations, including bank and general ledger.
• Strong knowledge of GASB standards and financial reporting regulations.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage complex financial data.
• Proven ability to work in high-volume transactional environments.
• Experience ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements for public entities.
