Divisional/Plant Controller

We are looking for an experienced Divisional/Plant Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Kansas City, Kansas. This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in accounting and financial operations within the food and food processing industry. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and delivering timely reporting to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and deposits.
• Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports for management review.
• Perform month-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting using Business Central and Excel.
• Maintain and monitor inventory accounting and annual inventory processes.
• Oversee standard costing and ensure annual cost updates are accurate and timely.
• Conduct financial analyses to identify variances and track discounts.
• Utilize Microsoft Business Central and Excel for budgeting, data analysis, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with fiscal year-end requirements based on a 4-4-5 retail calendar.
• Collaborate with the team to improve financial processes and drive efficiency.
• Support the organization’s revenue goals by maintaining precise accounting practices.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
• Proficiency in month-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and standard costing.
• Experience in financial reporting and controllership responsibilities.
• Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
• Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems.
• Ability to manage inventory accounting and annual inventory processes.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
