Database Administrator

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. In this long-term contract position, you will manage and optimize database systems, ensuring their reliability and efficiency. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can collaborate across teams to address technical challenges and deliver impactful solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement database models and relational architecture to meet business needs.

• Utilize data mapping, mining, and transformation tools to develop and optimize databases.

• Perform regular data entry and reviews to ensure the integrity and accuracy of user information within the database.

• Maintain database support tools, tables, dictionaries, and recovery procedures to safeguard data.

• Analyze technical issues and collaborate with colleagues to develop practical solutions.

• Provide recommendations for database enhancements and improvements to improve system performance.

• Communicate technical solutions and procedures effectively with project managers and team members.

• Support moderately complex projects independently while assisting technical staff with assignments.

• Ensure database security and compliance with organizational standards.

• Document operational guidelines and processes for database management systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with less than 2 years of experience.
• Proficiency in database design, relational architecture, and data transformation tools.
• Strong analytical skills to address technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent communication abilities for collaboration across project teams and stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of Python and cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with database security protocols and optimization practices.
• Ability to document and maintain operational procedures effectively.
• Experience with troubleshooting and recovery processes in database systems.
