Controller (Plant)

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager/Plant Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure accuracy in manufacturing cost accounting processes. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who can manage financial reporting, analyze cost structures, and support decision-making within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Based in Metro Detroit, Michigan, this position offers an opportunity to contribute to operational excellence through precise financial management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of manufacturing cost accounting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

• Develop and maintain standard cost accounting processes to improve financial transparency.

• Lead month-end close activities, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.

• Analyze cost structures and operational expenses to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and strategic decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all financial activities.

• Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.

• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

• Provide guidance and support to the finance team, fostering growth and development.Finance

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting or a related field.

• Expertise in standard cost accounting practices and procedures.

• Proven track record of managing month-end close processes in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Proficiency in financial reporting and compliance standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams.

• Advanced knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems, including PLEX.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
