We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Collections Specialist to join our team in Stanton, California. The ideal candidate will excel in managing customer accounts, resolving disputes, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in a meticulous and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with sales and billing teams to ensure accurate invoicing and address client concerns effectively.
- Maintain thorough documentation of collection activities, customer communications, and payment arrangements.
- Process and apply customer payments to the appropriate accounts accurately.
- Identify accounts requiring escalation and recommend further collection actions when necessary.
- Prepare aging reports and provide regular updates to management regarding collection progress.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant federal and state regulations governing collections.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related accounting role.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with tools such as Accurint, Epic Software, and knowledge of accounts receivable and collection processes.
- Familiarity with billing functions, claim administration, and answering inbound calls professionally.
