AP Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant for a client on a long-term contract basis in Redmond, Washington. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a strong background in AP processes. You will play a key part in ensuring financial transactions are accurate and compliant with company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals.

• Perform account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

• Prepare and post manual journal entries using Excel.

• Handle check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments.

• Monitor and address discrepancies, resolving issues efficiently.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of accounts payable tasks.

• Assist in maintaining compliance with financial policies and procedures.

• Generate reports and analyze data to support decision-making.

• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within AP workflows.

• Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including coding invoices and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating and managing manual journal entries.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams.
• Familiarity with ACH payments and check runs.
• Solid organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Analytical mindset to support financial reporting and process improvements.
