Accounting Lead

About the Company: We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join a global manufacturing organization in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will oversee key accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to the optimization of business processes. The ideal candidate will be a CPA, bring leadership skills and a meticulous approach to managing complex accounting tasks.

About the Role: The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and mentoring staff, managing the month-end close process, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor staff and senior accountants to ensure growth and effective team performance.
• Assist in managing the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion within a three-day timeline.
• Take ownership of advanced accounting matters, including inventory provisions, warranty provisions, and deferred considerations.
• Prepare precise financial statements and disclosures in accordance with applicable standards.
• Coordinate with the tax team to guarantee the timely submission of tax returns.
• Ensure robust internal controls are maintained and documentation is consistently updated.
• Facilitate and manage internal and external audits, addressing inquiries and requests promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement improvements to accounting and business processes.
• Handle ad hoc reporting and special projects as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA certification or an equivalent credential.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably including time with a Big 4 firm.

Required Skills:

• Solid understanding of US GAAP and advanced accounting practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
• Ability to interpret complex accounting data and apply theoretical knowledge effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication abilities, with a demonstrated capacity for teamwork and collaboration.
