Responsibilities:
- Communicate with patients, government agencies, and third-party payers to gather and process information necessary for reimbursement.
- Review and correct billing claims before submission to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Monitor unpaid accounts, initiate appropriate actions for collection, and follow up to achieve resolution.
- Handle appeals by coordinating with relevant departments for coding updates and charge information.
- Calculate and process write-offs, debit, and credit adjustments as needed.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while adhering to established procedures.
- Provide general office support to facilitate smooth operations and address administrative needs.
- Prepare claims and collections data for distribution to appropriate sources.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the billing and collection functions.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or technical degree is preferred.
- Prior experience in medical billing and collections is highly desired.
- Familiarity with billing procedures, claim administration, and reimbursement processes.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, payers, and team members.
- Ability to calculate adjustments, write-offs, and manage debit/credit transactions.
- Proficiency in tracking productivity and maintaining quality standards.
- Knowledge of coding practices and appeals handling.
- Commitment to adhering to organizational vaccination and compliance policies.
