Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a variety of heavy machinery and equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, and loaders. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in various types of heavy machinery.
Conduct repairs and adjustments on engines, transmissions, differentials, and other critical components.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively regarding equipment status and work progress.
Adhere to company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an associate degree in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment technology is preferred.
Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician or similar role.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems used in heavy machinery.
Proficient with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver's license.
