Medical ReceptionistPrivate Family Practice – Cortland & Warren, OhioPosition OverviewOur growing private family practice, with two convenient locations in Cortland and Warren, Ohio, is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Receptionist to join our team. This position is the first point of contact for our patients and plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, efficient, and professional environment.We are looking for someone who works well with others, communicates clearly, and thrives in a fast-paced medical office setting.Key ResponsibilitiesFront Desk & Patient InteractionGreet and check in/check out patients in a courteous and professional mannerAnswer and manage multi-line phone system; schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointmentsProvide clear communication regarding appointments, policies, and follow-up careMaintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulationsAdministrative DutiesCollect co-pays, balances, and other patient payments; provide receipts and balance reconciliationVerify insurance information and update patient demographicsDistribute and manage incoming/outgoing faxesScan and upload documents into the EMR systemProcess mail and assist with general clerical tasksMaintain organized front desk and waiting areaClinical Support (Non-Clinical Role)Possess a basic understanding of medical terminology and common family practice proceduresAccurately enter patient information into the EMR (MEDENT experience preferred)Relay messages to clinical staff clearly and efficientlyTechnology & SystemsUtilize EMR software (MEDENT preferred)Demonstrate basic understanding of computers, printers, scanners, and office equipmentNavigate email, scheduling systems, and digital communication platformsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)Previous medical office experience preferredFamiliarity with EMR systems (MEDENT experience a plus)Basic knowledge of medical terminologyStrong organizational and multitasking skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to handle confidential information professionallyDependable transportation to travel between Cortland and Warren locationsDesired Personal QualitiesPositive attitude and strong work ethicTeam-oriented and supportive of coworkersDetail-oriented and accurate with data entryComfortable handling financial transactionsCalm and professional under pressureStrong communication skills (both written and verbal)Willingness to learn and adaptWork EnvironmentFast-paced family practice serving patients of all agesTwo office locations (Cortland & Warren, OH)Collaborative, team-based environmentFull-time position (hours to be discussed)
