Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Account Manager role based in Cataumet, MA. The Account Manager will manage a book of personal and commercial insurance clients, responding to inquiries, processing policy changes, and handling renewals and endorsements. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing quotes, preparing proposals, explaining coverage options, and assisting clients with billing questions and claims-related support. The role involves maintaining accurate client records in agency management systems, following up on documentation, and ensuring policies meet carrier and regulatory requirements. The Account Manager will also collaborate with producers and other team members to retain and grow accounts, identify cross-selling opportunities, and uphold high standards of customer service.
Qualifications
- Experience in insurance account management or customer service, preferably in an independent agency or similar environment.
- Knowledge of personal and/or commercial lines insurance products, policy forms, and basic underwriting principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain coverage and options clearly to clients.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple accounts, tasks, and deadlines with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computers and insurance or CRM systems; ability to learn agency management software and carrier portals.
- Comfort working on-site in a collaborative office setting and interacting directly with clients by phone, email, and in person.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and client-focused mindset, with a commitment to long-term relationship building.
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license in Massachusetts (or ability to obtain within a defined time frame).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or industry coursework (e.g., CIC, CISR) is a plus.
