Summary:
The dean of students serves as part of the instructional leadership team for the school in conjunction with the principal, assistant principal, and other key staff in an administrative capacity. This position assists in providing instructional support, maintaining student discipline, evaluating staff, communicating with parents, and supervising extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in a middle school or secondary endorsement as well as an Administration and Supervision endorsement or have fulfilled all coursework and testing requirements for such endorsement.
- Three years of successful teaching experience, experience in grades 6-8 preferred
- Leadership qualities and skill in presenting to and working with both licensed and classified colleagues.
- Continuous and recent professional learning directly related to the content area, methodology, and Virginia Standards of Learning.
- Ability to plan and implement instructional programs as appropriate to meet individual needs.
- Ability to make formal and informal assessments of student performance and prepare reports.
Pay Rate:
Teacher Salary Scale (credit is based on years of full-time experience in a related position)
Contract:
Full time / 12 months / 245 days
Start Date:
This position is effective with the 2026-2027 school year.
