What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Roberson Museum?
Position Summary:
Has the primary responsibility of cleaning and disinfecting the facility. Light maintenance/repair on buildings and equipment may be included depending on the skillset. Some nights are required.
Responsibilities:
- Routine cleaning including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, restrooms, windows, and other cleaning duties as assigned.
- Set-up/take-down, cleaning, and support for special events at Roberson
- Maintains the equipment required to perform the job
- Trash and recycling removal
- Restocking custodial supplies
- Performs related work as assigned
Specific Knowledge and Skills:
- General knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the custodial and janitorial field
- Knowledge using cleaning products, using cleaning equipment, and safety procedures
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for a prolonged period of time, and use stairs
- Works efficiently, courteously, and professionally with a wide range of staff and volunteers
- Represent the museum in a professional way including appearance
- Good time-management
- Must be able to communicate at an appropriate level with others
- Comfortable interacting in a team environment and with visitors
- Reliable, punctual, and dedicated
- Able to work independently and self-motivated
Education & Experience:
High School or equivalency is required. One year of cleaning experience preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
