Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant with X-Ray Certification to join our dynamic pediatric dental team. Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures.
- Assist pediatric dentists during various dental treatments
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) following proper aseptic technique and safety protocols to ensure high-quality imaging.
- Operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Open Dental to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history.
- Assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to promote a positive experience.
- Maintain strict infection control standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA guidelines to protect patient health and confidentiality.
- Support administrative tasks such as greeting and seating patients
- Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and dental anatomy knowledge
- Uphold the highest standards of aseptic technique and infection control practices to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Possess a positive attitude and ability to interact professionally and compassionately with our pediatric patients and their parents/guardians.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental office is required; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential.
- Proven proficiency in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Dental Radiology license and the ability to take readable dental x-rays.
- Knowledge of Open Dental is preferred for seamless documentation management.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy is mandatory.
- Background in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus, demonstrating comfort with pediatric-specific procedures.
- Strong grasp of dental assisting duties combined with excellent communication skills to foster positive patient interactions.
