Nature of Work |
The purpose of this position is to provide quality instruction in health and physical education based on NC state standards. The ideal candidate will pay a crucial role in promoting healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, and overall well-being among our students. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal. |

Duties and Responsibilities |
•Developing lesson plans, teaching classes, and teaching skills for physical activity. •Helping students develop life skills and promote physical fitness. •Creating a positive learning environment, teamwork, sportsmanship, and community activities. •Establishing the role of physical activity director, guiding students, and celebrating accomplishments, and ensuring safety in a dynamic physical environment. •Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the school's physical education program. •Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement, participation, and personal growth. •Perform other related duties as assigned. |

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
• Ability to communicate clearly in written and electronic formats; as well as, in-person. • Ability to use a computer or other electronic devices for the purpose of communication, instruction, data recording, and location of information. • Ability to collaborate with district staff to identify and solve problems. • Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion when dealing with students and/or parents and their personal and educational needs. • Skill in identifying student learning and personal needs and collaborating with other professionals to provide needed resources or interventions. |

Education and Experience Requirements |
Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a current NC Teaching Certification in Physical Education. |
