Job Summary: Manages assigned conveyor projects. Assists the VP Sales in general management activities for the Division. Provides direction to other Team members associated with new projects.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Develop budgets and sales proposals to promote new business to include domestic and international markets.
2. Reviews project proposals or plans to determine schedules, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
3. Assists the VP Sales in general management activities for the Division.
4. Provides direction to other Team Members involved with the Conveyor Systems.
5. Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
6. Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
7. Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
8. Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
9. Monitors the status of projects and reports such to management, client, or others.
10. Requests, processes and manages quotations for manufactured and commercial components related to the project and is in direct contact with the vendors after placing orders in regards to component progress, deliveries and payments.
11. Conducts periodic and final inspections of manufactured and commercial components.
12. Provide engineering man-hour estimates and schedules for sales proposals.
13. Provides assistance at job site to resolve technical problems as needed.
Qualifications:
- BS, Mechanical Engineering
- 15 years or more design experience, at least 8 years within conveyor industry
- 3 years of related project management experience required.
- 4 years of related experience in manufacturing, preferably with custom-made machinery.
- Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to manage schedules and budget to meet requirements.
- Experience directing technical staff is required
- Business and accounting skills are necessary to read, understand and perform within the terms and agreements of the contract.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including MS Project.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Unusual physical requirements, and/or working conditions:
Occasional working visits to tunnels and machinery assembly sites/areas that could exhibit the following: Fumes and airborne particles, extreme cold or heat, vibration, and diseases that require protection through administration of drugs, vaccinations, and/or shots prior to, during, and/or after the visit.
