Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in all work areas.
- Select fresh ingredients, including fish, rice, vegetables, and seaweed, ensuring quality and freshness.
- Create innovative sushi rolls and other Japanese-inspired dishes to enhance menu offerings.
- Manage ingredient inventory, monitor stock levels, and place orders as needed to minimize waste.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service delivery.
- Adhere to all health regulations and safety protocols while working efficiently under pressure.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation procedures.
- Experience working in fast-paced restaurant environments with a focus on quality and consistency.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining attention to detail.
- Culinary training or certification related to Japanese cuisine is preferred but not required.
