HR Manager
Nature of Work
Under general supervision performs a large variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative duties involving interaction with other departments, district employees, and the general public. This individual functions as the primary support to the Director of Human Resources. Work typically involves several steps and requires the selection of the most appropriate action within procedural and operational guidelines. Work is directed by precedents or broad policy. Work also involves receiving correspondence, screening and independently handling a variety of routine inquiries by telephone and in person, and maintaining a variety of confidential records and files.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answers and directs calls for the Human Resources Department; Responds to voicemails and emails in a timely manner.
- Maintains employee records in personnel files and in the Human Resources Management System (HRMS); Provides assistance and training to other employees involved in using HRMS; Runs required reports from HRMS.
- Processes required personnel paperwork including, but not limited to completing required forms for new hires, maintaining employment applications, etc.
- Processes information using a variety of computer driven word processing, spread sheet and file maintenance programs, which requires use of a variety of complicated formats for preparing correspondence, reports and manuscripts. Work includes responsibility for accuracy of spelling, punctuation, format and grammar.
- Assists applicants with the online application process.
- Direct involvement with substitute teachers; Maintains potential substitute files and active substitute files; Prepares and presents substitute packets at in-service training.
- Processes new employees to the district; Processes I-9 data into Homeland Security database resolving all discrepancies; Assists with benefits enrollment and makes ID badges for new employees
- Managing all employee benefits. Enrollment, invoices and payments
- Assists payroll department as needed
- Assists with New Teacher Induction and New Employee Orientation
- Maintains attitude of service, assistance and support for employees and applicants
- Exercises confidentiality concerning personnel matters
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
