What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandise Assistant (Part-Time) position at Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs?
We are looking for a Merchandise Assistant for our upcoming 2026-2027 season! This is a part-time, paid position that must be located in Roanoke or surrounding areas. The expected duration of this position is August, 2026 through May, 2027. The ideal candidate will be an independent worker, detail-oriented, a natural problem solver, trustworthy and reliable.

- Available to work a MAJORITY of home game days from 5:00 P.M. through the end of the game (30 regular season games, plus postseason)
- Flexible schedule from September to May.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing at least 25 lbs., stand on your feet for 8 hours at a time, ascend/descend stairs while carrying boxes or other items
- Communicate in a professional and customer-oriented manner with fans in-person, on the phone and via email
- Frequently use computer software including, but not limited to, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Square Point of Sale System, JotForm and Copper CRM System
Position Description:
- Tag, inventory, fold, and organize new and existing retail items
- Prepare incoming merchandise orders for customers accurately and in a timely manner
- Find, address and solve merchandise related issues
- Assist our full-time staff with administrative duties
