Position Summary
At Roanoke Mechanical, our Operations Support Specialist is the engine behind our field team. This position is responsible for keeping our warehouse organized, company vehicles stocked and clean, inventory accurate, and our technicians and installers equipped with everything they need to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
No two days are the same. One day you may be organizing inventory, the next you may be delivering emergency parts to a technician, helping an installer unload equipment, or assisting on a job site. What You'll DoWarehouse & Inventory
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse.
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments.
- Track inventory levels and notify management when stock is low.
- Pull materials for upcoming installation and service jobs.
- Conduct routine inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
- Process warranty returns and core returns.
Fleet Management
- Keep service and installation vans fully stocked and organized.
- Perform weekly van inspections.
- Restock consumable materials and parts.
- Help maintain vehicle cleanliness and organization.
- Assist with tool accountability and equipment organization.
Field Support
- Deliver parts, equipment, and materials to technicians and installers.
- Pick up equipment and supplies from local distributors.
- Assist with emergency material deliveries to keep jobs on schedule.
- Help prepare equipment for upcoming installations.
Job Site Assistance
While this is primarily an operations support position, there will be times when you will assist our field team on customer job sites.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting installers with moving equipment and materials.
- Helping technicians complete service tasks.
- Assisting with system installations.
- Loading and unloading equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and professional job site.
- Learning HVAC fundamentals while supporting experienced team members.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone interested in eventually becoming an HVAC installer or service technician.
Facility Responsibilities
- Maintain shop cleanliness inside and outside the building.
- Organize storage areas and equipment.
- Dispose of scrap materials properly.
- Assist with general facility maintenance as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Self-motivated and dependable.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Able to lift 75 pounds.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all seasons.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
- HVAC experience is a plus but not required—we're willing to train the right person.
