Minimum Job Requirements/Qualifications
- Develop weekly lesson plans that adhere to county-wide and curriculum based standards
- Ensure the health and safety of classroom students, including personal care and development, when necessary
- Write and administer Individual Education Plans for students with disabilities
- Maintain the IEP (monitoring all goals and objectives outlined in the IEP for mastery and progress, collecting data toward goals, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with timelines (IEPs, triennial reviews, evaluations, etc.)
- Oversee and guide Instructional Assistants working in the classroom environment
- Schedule, plan, and implement curriculum related activities and engaging units
- Organize a variety of educational learning experiences in and outside of the classroom
- Adhere to school policies and attend required division meetings and professional trainings
- Administer required assessments (i.e., formative assessments, SOL assessments, etc.)
- Create an environment with clear schedules, routines, and transitions conducive to learning
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with school personnel and the community
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with students, staff and families
- Consulting with teachers, related service personnel, students, and parents regarding student needs.
- Consulting with outside agencies.
- Maintaining appropriate documentation (i.e. student goals, records, evaluation components, progress reports, etc.).
