What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier position at Roanoke City?
Cashiers provide fast, friendly, and accurate check out service for our customers using computerized cash register systems. Accuracy and basic math skills are important, as is the ability to memorize product identification codes and weekly ad specials. Cashiers bag their customers’ orders and help shoppers find items in the store. They assist in the cleaning and dusting of the check stands and surrounding areas and may take “return” products back to proper shelf locations.
Requirements/ResponsibilitiesMust be able to frequently lift 35 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Must be 16 years of age at least
High school education preferred, or an equivalent amount of education
