Educational Assistant - Special Education
Qualifications:
- 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meets "Highly Qualified" paraprofessional standards.
- Satisfactory background check.
- Pass drug screening.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the educational and social-emotional development of students under the guidance of the classroom teacher/case manager.
- Carry out instructional plans as prepared by the supervising teacher.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for students.
- Provide support and assistance for students inside and outside the classroom to facilitate learning and participation.
- Assist classroom teacher with data collection.
- Support students with behavioral and/or emotional needs.
- Assist classroom teacher in preparing work for students.
- Assist with providing modifications and accommodations as appropriate.
- Assist students with self-help skills.
- Assist Students with mobility needs.
- Physically assist with lifting and positioning of students with physical needs.
- Maintain student confidentiality.
- Work cooperatively as a member of the educational team.
