What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Lead (Wood Working/Fabrication) position at Roadcase.com, Inc.?
Manufacturing Lead
As a Manufacturing Lead, you are the bridge between craftsmanship and performance. You are not only a highly capable builder—you’re the person others look to when something needs to be done right, done efficiently, and done without excuses. Leads set the pace, protect quality, and raise the standard of the entire shop floor.
This role is for builders who have proven they can produce excellent work consistently and are ready to guide others, solve problems in real time, and take ownership of daily outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leads don’t just build cases—they lead production.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will continue building advanced roadcases while also ensuring the team is aligned, supported, and delivering to standard. You will:
- Build and oversee production of both standard and advanced roadcases
- Execute work orders with high accuracy while guiding others through theirs
- Lead daily workflow execution: priorities, pacing, and task coordination
- Monitor quality during production—not after the fact
- Catch and correct build issues early before they become rework
- Troubleshoot production challenges and remove roadblocks quickly
- Support Fulcrum usage, department processes, and daily shop priorities
- Train and coach Apprentices and Specialists through real-time feedback and modeling
- Communicate clearly with leadership on production progress, constraints, and needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized workspace and reinforce shop standards
What Success Looks Like
Success as a Lead is visible in the performance of the team—not just your own output.
You’re successful when:
- Your builds consistently pass inspection with little to no rework
- The team stays productive, focused, and aligned on daily priorities
- You prevent quality issues instead of reacting to them
- Apprentices grow faster because you coached them the right way
- Specialists level up because you challenged them and held the standard
- Problems are surfaced early, clearly, and with solutions—not excuses
- You protect quality, accuracy, and safety even when deadlines tighten
- You lead with calm confidence—no rushing, guessing, or cutting corners
Leads set the tone: discipline, ownership, consistency, and pride in the craft.
The Reality Check
This is still hands-on manufacturing. You’ll be on your feet, working with your hands, and solving real problems in real time.
Some days run smooth. Other days require you to adjust fast—priorities shift, timelines tighten, and problems show up unexpectedly. In those moments, the Lead is the person who steadies the floor and keeps production moving without sacrificing standards.
Speed matters here—but never at the expense of accuracy, safety, or quality.
Why This Role Matters
Manufacturing Leads are the force multipliers at Roadcase.com.
You protect quality, develop talent, and ensure we deliver on what we promise. This is where leadership becomes real—where performance is measured by outcomes, team consistency, and the ability to raise the bar every day.
If you take pride in your work, refuse to settle, communicate clearly, and want to lead by example while building world-class roadcases—this role was built for you.
