What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist Assistant position at Road to Recovery Physical Therapy?
Road to Recovery PT is a physical therapist owned outpatient physical and occupational therapy practice with multiple locations in Brooklyn and Queens. We are currently seeking to hire a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant for a full time position to split their time between our Boro Park (1270 44 St) and Williamsburg (535 Flushing Ave) state of the art 5000 ft2 facilities, equipped with the most advanced, modern exercise and PT equipment.
New grads are welcomed to apply and will receive mentorship from one of the 10 experienced therapists currently working at the facility. We will, however, give preference to a candidate with outpatient experience who's proficient in massage, manual techniques and exercise prescription.

Responsibilities:
- Provides physical therapy treatment with on-site supervision of a licensed PT in accordance with policy and procedures of state laws and the professional code of ethics
- Implement therapeutic interventions that may include but are not limited to therapeutic exercise, functional training, manual therapy (including soft tissue and joint mobilization), physical agents or modalities, and patient-related instruction (including home exercise program)
- Maintains accurate and legible documentation including but not limited to SOAP notes and exercise flow sheets for each patient visit using EMR
- Completes documentation in a timely manner that is consistent with all laws and regulatory requirements
- Maintains complete and accurate billing practices and assists front desk in maintaining authorizations
- Practices in a safe manner that minimizes risk to patients, self, and others
- Updates clinical skills through continuing education programs, professional contacts, journal articles, and participation in professional organization
- Assists and participates in in-service presentations after attending continuing education courses or as requested
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion and provides care and maintenance of facility equipment including reporting faulty equipment
- Adheres to proper work schedule and does not have excessive tardiness or absenteeism
- Complies with dress code policy – wearing logo shirt or business casual attire
- Reports to the Senior Physical Therapist
Qualifications:
- Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited NYS program
- Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license or eligibility to become licensed in NY
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills required
