What are the responsibilities and job description for the Road to Hire: Program Manager position at Road to Hire?
The Program Manager for Road to Hire will oversee strategy to drive mission-relevant results across one or more of Road to Hire’s education/career access programs. This results-driven individual should be motivated by the opportunity to develop and create opportunities for under-served youth and young adults in our community. A successful candidate for this role will be a self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills, who is excited to roll up their sleeves and engage in every element of our programs.
The Program Manager will adeptly manage and prioritize large projects, working closely with their peers, and manage 1-2 teams. The Program Manager will autonomously own initiatives end-to-end, including outreach, recruiting, curriculum design, impact reporting, and more for programs ranging from dozens to hundreds of participants. This is a full-time role which may require occasional weekends or evenings.
What You'll Do:
- Embrace and inform Road to Hire’s mission through the organization’s next growth phases; set aggressive goals and inspire followership
- Coach and develop program staff and volunteers
- Serve as the organization’s face to the community, connecting with local corporate, nonprofit and government organizations in efforts that advance the mission, including applicant flow and job placement partnerships
- Represent Road to Hire at community events; organize and execute grassroots community efforts
- Collaborate with volunteers from multiple disciplines, including IT, accounting, legal, HR and communications/PR to manage all operational needs
- Track and report end-to-end program results; use results and strong judgment to inform continuous improvement efforts
- Formulate and lead large, inter-connected projects
- Work closely with students and the groups that our organizations serve
- Identify opportunities for continual improvement through feedback, continually presenting insights with solutions
- Report on program performance to executive team and directors
What We're Looking For:
- 7 years of professional experience
- 2 years of management experience
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial leadership and results in corporate, nonprofit or academic setting
- Passionate about and strongly aligned with Road to Hire’s core beliefs and mission
- Aptitude for making real-time decisions, measuring results and quickly changing course when necessary
- Strong relationship-building skills; ability to quickly build trust with direct reports and a wide variety of different stakeholders
- Exceptional communication skills, with a knack for using data and real-life narratives to compel action and support
- Experience in career services or student advising leadership role at the college level OR experience leading university or alternative talent pipeline recruiting efforts for a large organization
