What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Project Engineer position at Road Commission for Oakland County?
Job Duties: Under the general supervision of a Division Head, is responsible for:
- Performs necessary engineering work involved in special assessment projects, special assessment repair program, new development, and private to public road transfers.
- Develops cost estimates and addresses environmental considerations.
- Supervises and participates in the preparation, revision and delivery of preliminary and final plans, specifications and engineer's estimates.
- Represents the RCOC at meetings, responds to customers, functions as division liaison and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conducts field reviews or investigations. Visits construction sites to review operations and progress. Interprets plans, specifications and design changes.
- Prepares and implements work processes.
- Supervises and coaches assigned staff.
- Performs other work as needed.
- Fills in for division manager when needed.
- Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
- Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
- Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.
Special Experience/Education
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience commensurate with the duties described above is required.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is desired.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver's License.
