Duties
This position is within a bargaining unit and the individual that holds this position is subject to the terms and conditions of the existing collective bargaining agreement.
Disclaimer
- Performs a broad range of construction related inspection activities to assure quality in road and bridge construction projects.
- Inspects more difficult or extensive MDOT Local Agency Projects involving Federal Aid Funding requiring detailed reporting and recordkeeping.
- Maintain project records that are subject to audit by MDOT and FHWA in addition to all normal inspectional requirements.
- Provides direction and coordinates the work of other inspectors (including third party contractors) when required.
- Calculate volumes and areas of complex shapes to track material quantities.
- Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
- Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
- Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent with math training sufficient to perform field and laboratory tests.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction inspection, commensurate with the duties described above.
- Experience with AASHTOWare Project and FieldManager is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state of Michigan driver license.
