Behavior Technician/Paraeducator - Schools {Job# 6165}

Overview
Join our Ro Health team as a Behavior Technician or Paraeducator in a great school environment! In this rewarding role, you will work closely with children and adolescents who have developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, to support their educational and behavioral growth. Your energetic and compassionate approach will help foster positive behavior change, promote independence, and enhance learning experiences. This paid position can start over the summer and during the fall for the start of the new school year.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote positive behaviors and skill development.
• Collect, record, and analyze data on student behaviors to monitor progress and inform future interventions.
• Assist students with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as toileting, dressing, feeding, and hygiene, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Support classroom teachers by implementing teaching strategies tailored to each student’s needs, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and special educators—to develop and update care plans.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding medical records and sensitive student information.
• Use behavioral management techniques to de-escalate challenging behaviors and promote positive social interactions.

Requirements

• Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management strategies, and data collection methods.
• Ability to assist students with ADLs and support their physical needs in a caring manner.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation practices, and maintaining accurate medical records.
• Strong communication skills and a strong willingness to implement feedback from teachers and your clinical team.
• Patience, compassion, and a proactive attitude toward supporting diverse learners in a school setting.

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour

Experience:

• Applied behavior analysis: 1 year (Required)
