Analyst / Junior Associate – Biotech Valuation & Analytics
RNA Advisors, LLC • Reno/Tahoe, NV
Position Overview
RNA Advisors, LLC seeks an Analyst / Junior Associate to support valuation engagements across the biotech and pharmaceutical equity lifecycle, from preclinical-stage private companies through late-stage public enterprises. Working under close direction from Senior Associates and senior team members, you will build the analytical foundation of client deliverables: financial models, research pulls, benchmarking, and supporting materials. You will learn how clinical, regulatory, and commercial phase transitions reshape the risk and value profile of equity, and you will use RNA Advisors' integrated AI-enabled tools to produce rigorous, defensible analysis.
This role is built for someone early in their career who is analytically driven, detail-oriented, and eager to develop technical depth in life sciences valuation. It is a training-forward position with a defined path toward the Senior Associate level.
Key Responsibilities
● Build and maintain financial models under supervision, including option-based allocation methods, probability-weighted scenario analyses, discounted cash flow techniques, and comparable benchmarking.
● Own data accuracy and quality control across models and deliverables, ensuring outputs are clean, internally consistent, and audit-ready.
● Conduct competitive and market research across pipelines, clinical trials, pricing, reimbursement, and regulatory pathways using RNA Advisors' AI-enabled intelligence capabilities.
● Gather, organize, and validate data from financial databases and clinical/regulatory sources.
● Prepare draft sections of presentations, memos, and reports for senior review, formatting deliverables to technical, editorial, and visual standards.
● Learn the frameworks that connect clinical phase transitions, regulatory milestones, and commercialization events to shifts in equity value and risk.
● Support the use of RNA Advisors' platform tools in engagement workflows and flag opportunities to work more efficiently.
● Maintain engagement files, version control, source documentation, and supporting schedules.
● Contribute to templates, benchmarks, and internal documentation as directed.
Qualifications
● 1–3 years of experience in valuation, financial analysis, equity research, investment banking, life sciences consulting, transaction advisory, or a similar analytical role. Internship experience in a relevant field may count toward this range.
● Working financial modeling skills in Excel, with the ability to learn option-based allocation, probability-weighted scenario modeling, discounted cash flow, and comparable company benchmarking as applied to life sciences equity.
● Interest in and basic familiarity with drug development lifecycles, clinical phases, and regulatory milestones. Deep domain knowledge is not required at entry.
● Undergraduate degree in a quantitative or scientific discipline required (e.g., finance, economics, biology, chemistry, engineering, statistics).
● Technical fluency with Excel and PowerPoint. Exposure to Python, SQL, or data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
● Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and clear written and verbal communication.
Preferred Skills
● Exposure to financial databases and clinical/regulatory sources (e.g., Capital IQ, PitchBook, Evaluate Pharma, ClinicalTrials.gov, FDA/EMA documents).
● Comfort using AI tools for research, drafting, data analysis, and quality control.
● Coursework or project experience in valuation, corporate finance, or the life sciences.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
● Coachability and a clear interest in growing into a Senior Associate role.
