Biomedical Equipment Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and calibrating a wide range of medical laboratory and clinical equipment. Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, calibration, and preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning devices, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and calibrations in accordance with organisational standards.
• Assist in the installation and setup of new laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with medical staff and laboratory personnel to resolve technical issues promptly.
• Keep abreast of technological advancements in biomedical equipment and recommend upgrades or replacements as necessary.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials.

Requirements

• Proven laboratory experience or background in biomedical technology or related fields such as biochemistry or IT.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with team members and medical personnel.
• Valid driving licence is preferred for travel between multiple sites or laboratories.
• Knowledge of IT systems relevant to biomedical equipment management is advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
