What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Superintendent position at RMT Construction & Development Group, LLC?
We’re seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent to join our team. This position will oversee multiple commercial renovation and tenant-improvement projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance while leading on-site construction activities.
The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of all major trades, excellent field coordination skills, and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations and subcontractor performance on multiple active job sites.
- Coordinate all trades, inspections, materials, and equipment to maintain quality and schedule.
- Conduct daily safety and progress meetings; enforce all OSHA and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers, clients, architects, and inspectors.
- Track and report project progress, manpower, and material delivery status.
- Ensure all work complies with drawings, specifications, and local building codes.
- Review plans, RFIs, and submittals to confirm field alignment and prevent delays.
- Manage punch lists, closeout activities, and turnover documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of all trades, including structural, MEP, and interior finishes.
- Proven ability to lead multiple crews and manage several projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Procore or similar project management software preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
