About the Role
RMS is seeking a Part-Time Roofing & Waterproofing Field Inspector to support projects throughout the Central Florida region.
This role is focused on on-site inspections of roofing and waterproofing installations, verifying compliance with construction documents, manufacturer requirements, and industry best practices.
This is a flexible, part-time position, ideal for professionals with field experience who are looking for consistent but non-full-time work.
Field Inspectors play a critical role in quality assurance by identifying issues early, documenting progress, and producing clear, accurate inspection reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site inspections of roofing and waterproofing systems at various stages of construction
- Verify installations comply with approved specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable codes
- Observe workmanship, materials, and installation methods to ensure quality standards are met
- Document site conditions with written notes and photographs
- Travel to multiple job sites as required within the assigned region
Qualifications
- Experience in roofing, waterproofing, construction inspection, or building envelope consulting
- Strong understanding of roofing and waterproofing systems (low-slope, steep-slope, membranes, flashings, sealants, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Comfortable working in field conditions (rooftops, active construction sites, varying weather)
- Proficient with basic technology (email, digital photos, report templates)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Knowledge of Florida construction practices and conditions
- *Being a RRO (Registered Roof Observer) is a plus.
