We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Industrial Journeyman to join our team in Idaho. As a Industrial Journeyman, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Your expertise and knowledge of electrical codes and regulations will be essential in ensuring the safety and efficiency of electrical installations.
Position Overview:
Performs highly skilled and complex industrial electrical work requiring sound judgment, independent analysis, and problem-solving. Provides leadership, mentoring, and support to apprentices and less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs journey-level electrical tasks in industrial settings including troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Works with motor control cabinets, generator backup systems, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, switchgear, panels, motors, and other related components.
- Diagnoses electrical issues and determines the best course of action for repair or replacement.
- Assists in selecting materials and equipment; helps maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Creates, updates, and organizes electrical prints, schematics, and documentation.
- Participates in regular safety meetings and on-the-job safety training.
- Leads and trains registered electrical apprentices on jobsite procedures, safe work practices, and proper installations.
- Collaborates with other trades, foremen, and engineers to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Performs other duties as assigned. This description does not restrict management’s right to assign or reassign responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license issued by the State of Idaho.
- Proven experience as a licensed Journeyman Electrician.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve electrical issues effectively.
- Excellent understanding of electrical theory, principles, and practices related to electrical installations and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, demonstrating good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and working at heights.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed and may be asked to travel.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
