The Payroll Specialist will provide accounting support to payroll and work cross functionally with Accounting and Human Resources. As a growing organization, this position may have avenues to grow into an accounting support role beyond primarily payroll duties in the future.
Essential Functions
- Monitoring timesheets for completeness
- Entering data into the payroll system including but not limited to: hours worked, benefit elections, employee stipends and reimbursements, and verifying pay rates and amounts
- Ensuring state unemployment tax filing compliance
- Company credit card administration including but not limited to: ordering and canceling cards for employees, tracking activations and fraudulent charges, assisting employees with training and questions
- Assist in completion of corporate level expense reporting, and serve as the primary backup for company-wide expense report approvals
- Assist in other duties as assigned including but not limited to audits and providing payroll reports as requested
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work with a team, and in a remote environment
- Knowledge of state unemployment practices and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of Paylocity as a payroll platform
- Self-starter, willing to dig into processes and make them more efficient
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education & Experience Requirements
- Paylocity experience, required
- Minimum 2 years processing payroll
- Experience working in remote environment, is a plus
- Unanet experience is a plus
- Valid Passport: Possession of a current passport with a minimum of 8 months remaining until the expiration date.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness and capability to travel, CONUS and OCONUS approximately 10% of the time.
- Telecommunication is authorized for this role.
- Work Environment Compliance: Commitment to maintaining a drug-free work environment, U.S. Citizenship, and possession of a valid state driver's license.
