Preferably based in Orange County, CA, this position will develop business across Santa Barbara, Orange County, and San Diego, with the potential to support future expansion into new markets. This is a rare opportunity to represent an established national brand while helping shape and grow one of its most exciting regions.

The Opportunity

The Director of Sales will be responsible for generating new business, developing strategic client and hotel relationships, and increasing revenue across RMC’s Southern California markets.

You will work closely with local leadership, local sales and operations teams, RMC’s National Sales Office, and our Creative Services team to develop distinctive programs for corporate meetings, incentive travel, conferences, and special events.

This is a highly visible, relationship-driven position for someone who understands how to open doors, earn trust, and convert opportunities into long-term business.

  • Grow RMC’s presence within luxury hotels and resorts throughout the region
  • Identify new accounts, market opportunities and strategic partnerships that support sustainable regional growth
  • Lead client presentations, destination overviews, site inspections and sales experiences with confidence and polish

  • Maintain an active and disciplined sales pipeline using Salesforce
  • Accurately forecast revenue, track account activity and deliver against established sales goals
  • Represent RMC at industry events, trade shows, client meetings, networking opportunities and familiarization experiences
  • Remain connected to market trends, new hotel developments, destination offerings and competitive activity
  • Serve as an ambassador for RMC’s culture, values and commitment to exceptional service

Who You Are

You are a natural relationship builder, strategic seller and confident closer. You combine strong commercial instincts with warmth, credibility and a genuine passion for hospitality.

You are energized by growth and comfortable building a market, but you also understand that lasting success comes from trust, responsiveness and consistently delivering on what you promise.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of progressive sales experience within destination management, luxury hospitality, hotels, meetings, incentives or events preferred

  • Existing knowledge of—or strong relationships within—the Southern California hospitality, meetings and events market
  • Demonstrated success generating new business, managing a sales pipeline and achieving revenue target
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, communication and relationship-management skills
  • Polished and professional presence with high emotional intelligence
  • Self-motivated, accountable and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities

  • Previous DMC experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel throughout Southern California and attend occasional evening, weekend and industry events
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
