What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Embryology Assistant position at RMA of Philadelphia Management?
RMA is looking for an Entry Level Lab Assistant to work Monday-Friday from 6:45 am-3:30pm for our King of Prussia offices. If you are a recent college graduate with a degree in Biology or a Lab Science, this would be the ideal job for you!
Laboratory Functions:
- Follow the laboratory’s procedures for reporting and maintaining records of patient test results
- specifically morning quality control of laboratory and patient medical records
- Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
- specifically daily QC sheets
- Study and review laboratory operating manual and become familiar with quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures and operating guidelines for performing laboratory services
- Study and review OSHA requirements for safe laboratory operation
- Participate in laboratory operations as directed
- Attend laboratory meetings as requested
- Confirmation of accuracy of clinical charts prior to release for insurance and physician reviews
- Assist embryology staff with procedures and research projects
- Confirm patients’ identity for each laboratory procedure performed
- Assist embryologists with the decontamination of culture incubators
- Communicate with clinical staff, as appropriate
Administrative Functions:
- Prepare required paperwork/documents
- Scan and store laboratory daily patient records
- Filing and binding of laboratory charts and/or clinical paperwork.
- Understanding of laboratory inventory process, which includes routinely receiving, stocking and rotating all consumable supplies
Skills & Requirements
- BS in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate good judgment and remain composed in a high standard environment
- Excellent listening/counseling/interpersonal, and communications skills required to manage sensitive patient situations properly
- Must be resourceful, well organized and detail oriented with excellent follow up and computer skills
- High energy, excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills, and demonstrated self-directed work ethic are required.
