Claims Manager
Work Environment: Office setting with some travel may be required for meetings or site visits.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Vice President of Operations, Transportation
Salary: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Pay Range: $70,000 minimum to $90,000 maximum
Location: Either Newfield or Mt. Laurel, New Jersey
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
Manage and monitor transportation claims team, working across Freight Brokerage and Freight Consolidation businesses, to ensure prompt and accurate claims investigation and processing
Develop and implement claim procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy
Review and analyze claim reports and make decisions on appeals and disputes
Provide technical expertise to the operations team
Liaise with all stakeholders to properly manage claims
Train and mentor related team members to ensure quality and consistency
Identify trends and patterns in claims for management review
Oversee and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to claim handling
Qualifications
Proven work experience as a Claims Manager or similar role in the transportation industry
Minimum number of 5 years of experience
Strong knowledge of claims, procedures, and policies
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of Excel and other MS platforms
Proficiency in claim management software and databases
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
BSc degree in Business Administration or relevant field
