RLM Underground was established in 2016 and specializes in underground telecom construction projects throughout the Midwest. RLM has rapidly grown at staggering rates leading to expanding its construction and operating capabilities into being a full-turnkey telecommunications contractor. Over the years, RLM has expanded its operating region, opening offices in Central Kentucky and Central Illinois while focusing on smaller Telco providers throughout those regions.
Position Summary:
RLM Underground seeks an organized and experienced Fleet Manager. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing Fleet Management strategies, all logistics of equipment/trucks/trailers are managed and ensuring that all employees and subcontractors are outfitted properly. The Fleet Manager must have a solid and successful background in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, and general construction equipment knowledge. This is not an entry level position and we need someone who can hit the ground running. The goal is to ensure we are providing safe and reliable vehicles for long distance travel.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate logistics of equipment, vehicles, and trailers with Managers, Supervisors and subcontractors.
- Provide updated insurance cards, registration documentation, and license plates to all company vehicle drivers.
- Acquire titles for new and existing trucks and trailers so they can be registered.
- Manage all maintenance for vehicles, trailer and equipment.
- Notify employees when vehicles, trailers or equipment are due for maintenance.
- Maintain downed vehicles and equipment.
- Monitor all repairs, notifications to employees and coordinate logistics.
- Log new vehicles, repairs and scheduled maintenance.
- Register all RLM vehicles and trailers in the appropriate states and maintain insurance coverage.
- Maintain DOT compliance at all times.
- Properly store all vehicles, trailers and equipment.
- Assist with the coordination of yard maintenance and repairs.
Job Type: Full Time
Salary: $70 - $80K annually
Company will provide:
- Company vehicle (truck)
- Fleet fuel credit card
- $50 monthly phone stipend (or company-paid cell phone if preferred)
- Laptop computer and multiple monitors as needed
- A private office at our KS location
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a fleet manager, maintaining over 100 vehicles at a time.
- Knowledge of construction equipment to recommend repairs as needed.
- Enough vehicle maintenance knowledge and experience to recognize basic maintenance needs and/or recommend repairs.
- Telecommunications equipment experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage calls, emails, and texts from our vehicle drivers with questions or concerns.
- Solid DOT experience and knowledge of the requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- English/Spanish bilingual ability is a plus.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
