This exciting Product Development position delivers interesting and challenging solutions with our varying customers. At RLE, the Catia V5 Designer is involved in many diverse problems to solve across the vehicle including Sheet Metal, Plastics, Body in White, Structures, Exterior Trim, Interior Trim, Safety, Suspension, and many more. The Catia V5 Designer is involved and responsible from conception through launch.

Position Description: Catia V5 Designer
The Role of the Catia V5 Designer
This exciting Product Development position delivers interesting and challenging solutions with our varying customers. At RLE, the Catia V5 Designer is involved in many diverse problems to solve across the vehicle including Sheet Metal, Plastics, Body in White, Structures, Exterior Trim, Interior Trim, Safety, Suspension, and many more. The Catia V5 Designer is involved and responsible from conception through launch.
What You'll Do
- Lead new/forward model product development.
- Design, develop, validate, and release components, assemblies, and systems.
- Create, complete, and approve the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R).
- Use Catia v5 to create 3D CAD and 2D Drawings.
- Develop, support, and maintain key quality documents (EBOM, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan)
- Support the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Lead and support team and customer meetings.
- Ensure a strong relationship with our operations team and complete Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Lead and support Technical Design Reviews.
- Must be proficient in Catia V5.0 (minimum of 5 years’ experience)
- Must have 8 years of automotive design experience with body and/or sheet metal
- GD&T
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc)
- Ability to communicate to a broad audience.
- Creative Problem Solving
- TeamCenter (Ford) – Preferred
- WERS – Preferred
