Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fiber Technicians to join our team or anyone willing to learn, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic and telecommunication networks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiber splicing, network installation, and telecommunications infrastructure. This role involves working in the field to ensure reliable high-speed data transmission and telephony services, utilizing various hand tools and testing equipment. The Fiber Technician will play a critical role in supporting our clients' network needs through precise installation and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems. must have a truck or utility vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Perform fiber splicing and termination to ensure optimal signal integrity.
- Install and maintain network infrastructure including Ethernet, telephony, and low voltage cabling systems.
- Set up and configure routers and other networking equipment.
- Conduct field service activities such as troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs on telecommunication systems.
- Use hand tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices to verify electrical continuity and system performance.
- Assist with cable management, mechanical installation, and system upgrades in various environments.
- Follow safety protocols and industry standards during all installation and maintenance tasks.
- Document work performed accurately for reporting and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fiber splicing, network installation, or as a service technician within the telecommunication industry.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, telephony systems, and routers.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools for cabling and equipment installation.
- Electrical experience with low voltage wiring, cabling, and troubleshooting electrical components.
- Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with testing equipment such as ohmmeters for electrical verification.
- Field service experience preferred with the ability to work independently in various environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Valid
